A Third-Generation Pediatric Dentist Dedicated to Your Child's Smile

Dr. Carly Tse-Goldstein

Education & Experience

Dr. Carly Tse-Goldstein understands the importance of family—it’s in her DNA. As a third-generation pediatric dentist, she is proudly carrying on the legacy started by her grandfather, Dr. Mike Weideman, founder of Weideman Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, and continued by her parents, Drs. Cindy Weideman and Kelvin Tse, the practice owners of Smile Island Dental Group and Weideman Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. Raised right here in Sacramento, Dr. Carly has a deep connection to the community where she now cares for the next generation.

For Dr. Carly, dentistry is about more than just teeth; it’s about making a genuine connection with every child. Her passion for the performing arts and community service, which she discovered at St. Francis High School, combined with her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, shapes her gentle and engaging approach, helping to transform dental visits into positive and stress-free experiences for even the youngest patients and their families. Whether it's a baby's first tooth or a toddler's check-up, her goal is to build trust and set your child up for a lifetime of healthy habits.

Dr. Carly completed her specialized training in pediatric dentistry at the highly regarded University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her training focused on providing the highest level of comprehensive care, including advanced experience with complex and emergent situations. As Chief Resident of the dental operating room at Ronald Reagan Hospital, she led all trauma calls, gaining specialized expertise in safely managing patients with complex medical needs and advanced craniofacial conditions. This commitment to serving children with diverse needs is further supported by her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and Master of Public Health (MPH) from A.T. Still University, which deepens her ability to address disparities in care within the community.

Outside of the Office

Dr. Carly is committed to advancing her field, serving as the Leadership Development Chair for the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry and as an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. When she's not creating beautiful smiles, she enjoys spending time with her own family and practicing photography.
