By: Riley Sue Recipes that can be made in a mug are easily some of the best things on earth. Maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration, but mug recipes are an extremely convenient way to prepare some of your favorite foods. They’re a great way to use your mug collection (because let’s face it–we all have way too many mugs) and they are typically easy to make. Here are some fun mug recipe ideas that you can try at home:
Cakes/Muffins.
These are generally the most popular when it comes to mug recipes. There are countless mug cakes online that are easy to follow. Even if you are not in the mood to look up new recipes and find all of the ingredients, many grocery stores have pre-made mixes and the only thing you’ll need to add is water! The most classic mug cakes are typically brownie mix and blueberry muffins. Again, these brownie and blueberry muffin mug cakes are all over the internet and most likely in your grocery store, but here are some quick links to recipes anyways:
Along with blueberry muffins, you can make your favorite breakfast foods in your mug every morning. French toast, omelettes, oatmeal, coffee cake, and basically anything that you might normally have for breakfast is able to be made in your small and convenient mugs. And one of the best parts is that they normally take less than 5 minutes to make!
Here are some links to some yummy breakfast mug recipes:
Mug recipes are not reserved only for quick mornings or easy desserts. Your last meal of the day could also be created in a mug when you are really not in the mood to cook a whole meal. Dinners in a mug are much more limited compared to breakfast, but they are just as tasty. Start with some classic dinners like Mac and Cheese and Pizza.
Whether you’re in a rush to get out of the door in the morning with breakfast, or the thought of cooking dinner is unbearable, mug recipes are a winner all around the board. Try the ones linked here or do some exploring on your own!
Important Note: Make sure that your mug is microwave-safe before you try any recipes. Beware of hot foods and surfaces and keep a close eye on your recipes in the microwave to avoid messes.
