Upcoming 2022 Movies (Teens Edition!)

 Summer is here! Lots of great movies are about to hit theaters, and on this list, I'll be naming off some 2022 movies you do not want to miss! On my last list, I covered movies that were fun for the whole family, but with this list, I'll be getting into more PG-13 rated films; this list is teens and up!
That being said, let's dive into the list!
 Top Gun Maverick:
First on our list is a film that has already hit theaters! Top Gun Maverick is the sequel to the widely popular Top Gun (1986), and is based on the actual Naval Fighter Weapons School, created during the Vietnam War. Tom Cruise returns as his character "Maverick," and after seeing this film, I can tell you the action is incredible, and this one is a must see.
 Jurassic World: Dominion:
The Jurassic series continues with Jurassic World: Dominion. The cast is all returning, from the Jurassic World and Jurassic Park series' combined; Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallace Howard, as well as the original trio, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. At this point in the story, our characters ponder, "Can humans and dinosaurs coexist?" This final installment of the Jurassic series hits theaters on June 9th, 2022.
 Elvis:
Based on the true events of this rock and roll legend, Elvis is a biopic regarding the famous Elvis Presley, and his rise to fame in the 1950's. Elvis is played by Austin Butler, and the movie also features famous actor Tom Hanks, who plays his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Elvis arrives in theaters on June 22nd, 2022.
 Thor: Love and Thunder:
Thor is back! Thor: Love and Thunder sees the return of the god of thunder, and his perilous journey fighting against the evil Gorr, the god butcher. In this fourth installment of the Thor series, the star studded cast returns, including Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, as well as director/actor Taika Waititi. Thor 4 hits theaters on July 8th, 2022.
 Shazam: Fury of the Gods
Another god of thunder returns for a sequel! This movie is a direct sequel to Shazam (2019), and follows our main hero teenager Billy Batson, who was bestowed incredible powers... that also make him appear as a fully grown man, played by talented actor Zachary Levi. Shazam: Fury of the Gods hits theaters on December 16th, 2022.
 Avatar: The Way of the Water:
The sequel to James Cameron's Avatar (2009), this movie has been in the works for many years. Avatar (2009) is still the world's highest grossing movie of all time, due to its action packed story, and stunning visuals. The returning cast includes leads Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, as well as director James Cameron returning to direct. Avatar: The Way of the Water arrives in theaters on December 16th, 2022.
And that's a wrap on the list! I’m personally most excited to see Thor: Love and Thunder.
This year is full of exciting, action packed movies (mostly sequels), that should be a blast to watch in the theater!
