Straighten Your Smile
Orthodontic problems can impact kids, teens and adults — in fact, it’s rare that anyone’s born with perfect teeth. Malocclusion, or a “bad bite,” can cause problems with chewing, oral hygiene, and speaking — not to mention looks.
A bad bite can be genetic or can be caused by thumb sucking, dental disease, poor dental hygiene, accidents, birth defects or other medical conditions.
Dr. Park and Dr. Amanda pair cutting-edge tech with the skill of moving teeth into their correct position. Your treatment at Weideman Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics can successfully treat many dental issues, like:
- Gaps between your teeth
- Crowded teeth
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Protruding teeth
- Impacted teeth
Metal Braces & Other Options
Most patients we treat at Weideman choose traditional metal braces to straighten their teeth.
While metal braces are the most common type of orthodontic treatment in Citrus Heights, you have other options, too.
After your first free consultation exam, Dr. Park or Dr. Amanda will talk to you about which treatment would be right for you based on your unique needs and smile goals.
Fixed Appliances Vs. Removable Appliances
At Weideman, we believe you should be fully educated when it comes to your treatment. The first step to correcting an orthodontic problem is learning about it.
It’s helpful for patients around Citrus Heights to understand the difference between fixed and removable appliances. Dr. Park and Dr. Amanda attach fixed appliances, like braces, to your teeth and won’t take them off until you complete your treatment at Weideman.
When Dr. Park or Dr. Amanda prescribe a removable appliance like Invisalign’s aligner system, you’ll wear it most of the day, but you can take the trays out of your mouth.
Besides the obvious differences, our practice uses Invisalign aligners to treat mild to moderate orthodontic problems. Dr. Park and Dr. Amanda generally use fixed appliances for more comprehensive and serious treatment.
